Summary
Another loop…. EXCEPT IT ENDED! In the final scene when Kyon is hit hard with de ja vu, he finally realizes that he hadn’t done his hw this whole time while Haruhi needed something to do. So he invites everyone to his house to complete their summer homework.

So it finally ended. Honestly, I think it would have had a pretty big impact on the audience if they all weren’t already spoiled rotten. I also do agree with other bloggers that doing your hw as the solution does seem a bit too shallow for an arc that they spent WAY too much time on. Again, i’m am not a particular supporter of what they did in this arc nor do I promote it. Four endless eight episodes would have already been pushing it but 8? I suppose only a show as amazing as Haruhi Suzumiya can fail so badly on an arc but still get away with it. With regards to rating the arc, if we were to omit all of the crap in between the first part of the arc and the ending, we here at chiakiproject would like to give this arc a rating of

8 out of 28 gah! T_T

Haruhi Suzumiya 2009 – Episode 18 Endless Eight 7

Summary
Another loop.

Around the time the 2nd loop aired, I theorized that might do this but I honestly didn’t think they would actually do it. The most obvious of all the theories but the most unwanted. It will most likely end on the 8th. August 8, 2009. The 8th day of the 8th month the loop will end on episode 8. After being trolled for the seventh time, I’m out of thoughts and my mind is blank regarding this show. Watching these last few episodes felt more like a chore than entertainment. I’m still hanging in there thanks to my love for the show and thankfully, there are swimsuit and yukata scenes every episode and that is about all there is to look forward to. Though this episode they did add a small part where Kyon actually is thinking about saying “I lavh yuu” which would actually mean he agrees with Koizumi when he says “there is no one more suitable than you is there?”. So next episode hopefully it will end and I will actually start “loving” rather than “liking” like I did in season 1.

Speaking of season 1, though I like the much more human Haruhi, I am starting to miss the Haruhi that was pissed off at the world all the time. Seeing Haruhi happy was something to look forward to in the first season since it was so rare. Which is why I am hoping this loop will finally end so I can see another familiar Haruhi.

Princess Lover – Episode 4

Summary
Teppei, Sylvie, and Charlotte are talking over at the social club when the topic turns towards Seika. Seika is actually a designer/supermodel for her own fashion line. Seika enters the room and reveals that she is inviting Nezu for an interview for a magazine that wants to write an article of Seika’s school life. When the time comes for Nezu to leave, he is stricken by a sickness that can only be described as lively. Teppei then decides to take Nezu’s place for the interview.

Teppei shows up at Seika’s fashion show and surprises her. The interview commences but it seems that Teppei’s lack of etiquette serves as a problem early on. Seika gives Teppei regular stomps on his feet to keep him in check. Now in a heated battle, the two trade blows with their feet under the table as the interview continues. Teppei then says how they are all impressed that Seika is able to be a student and run a fashion line. Seika now stomps on Teppei’s foot again, but this time from embarrassment.

During dinnertime, Teppei reveals that he found out why Seika hates him so much. It seems that Teppei’s grandmother had an affair with Seika’s grandfather and because of this, Teppei’s grandfather kicked his grandmother out of the house and cut all ties with the Houdou group. Teppei’s grandfather is also unwilling to sell Seika’s fashion line in Arima stores because of the grudge and hence Seika’s fury. To fix all of this, Teppei decided to become a director and approve Seika’s line in Arima stores.

Sorry for the late post, hospital checks really take time. So anyway two episodes is all for Seika? Unlike most people, I actually favor Seika’s character. Although I did think that her reason for hating the Arima group was valid, I feel as though taking it out on someone who had nothing to do with your problem isn’t right. The same can be said for Arima’s grandfather. He shouldn’t have taken it out on Seika but his decision of cutting ties with the Houdou group is justified, which was why I was slightly irritated when Seika said it was all Teppei’s grandfather’s fault. It wasn’t the grandfather’s fault at all, if anyone was to blame it would be the grandmother. No matter how lonely a person gets, if she really loved her husband she wouldn’t have cheated on him. People aren’t cats who will purr anyone who will feed them (which is why I like dogs better but that is besides the point). My policy is if they can do it once, they can do it again.

Assuming that Teppei’s grandfather had only one wife, it would mean that Teppei and Seika are distant relatives right? Since it would mean that their grandmothers are one and the same. Just thought I’d throw that out there.

So all in all despite my liking for Seika’s character, the arc was too short and didn’t really do much for me. Though I did like how the producers add comedy to the scenes. I can only hope that there is more to Seika’s story later.

Haruhi Suzumiya 2009 – Episode 17 Endless Eight 6

Summary
Another loop.

Onibaku        Goo!

Goo: So Onibaku, when do you think endless eight will End?

Onibaku: At this point, the most obvious guess would be episode 8. If not, then I would place my money in August.

Goo: I guess they’ll be going for August because they didn’t officially announce a “season 2″ of Haruhi so they are under no obligation to make season two episodes in the first place. They merely said that this is a “re-airing” of the first season.

Onibaku: Ah… Well if you think about it that way the producers don’t really seem to be in the wrong and its not so bad.

Goo: But I also doubt it, since they used a new OP and ED.

Onibaku: Well yeah theres that.. but maybe they will use the “We didn’t officially announce a 2nd season” as an excuse for basically defiling a great show and squeezing money from us.

Goo: Hmm, do you know about the opening? The infinity symbol at the OP? I think that may hint at the content of the remaining episodes.

Onibaku: Oh yeah, I didn’t notice that. Maybe thats all there is to this season…. infinity. Those corporal suits are going to keep this going until the end.

Goo: Yeah, I think they’re going for full E8 throughout the season because there’s still unaired season 1 episodes which will give us little room for new content. Let’s just hope they remake or extend the season somehow…

Thoughts: I was suprised when I saw this episode. I honestly thought that the rumor that there were only 6 episodes was true. Though I was disappointed, I did notice that the animation quality did step up a notch but that’s just about all I have left to say regarding the episode.  I am squeezed dry, out of theories. Chances are they will continue endless eight episodes throughout the season. Whether you keep watching is entirely up to you.  Being the devoted fan that I am, I will continue to watch no matter how many there are.

Princess Lover – Episode 3

Summary
Teppei and Sylvia continue with their match and seem to be at a draw when Teppei declares that he loses and says Sylvia is faster. Teppei tells her that he wants to get to know her better irregardless of their engagement to one another. With that said the two become friends. Sylvia and Charlotte then suggest that Teppei should join the social club. When they get there they are greeted with a firm scolding from Seika. In order for Teppei to be accepted in the club, he has to prove his worth by having proper mannerisms typical of the elite. Seika invites him to a party in which he can showcase his ability.

Sylvia , Yuu, and Charlotte take roles in helping Teppei with proper mannerisms while Seika looks on. The day of the party comes and Seika is suprised to see that Teppei did a great job socializing with proper manners throughout the whole party. She recognizes his effort but is to prideful to let in. She asks Teppei to prove his worth yet again by hosting a party of his own.

I’d say the directors did their job well. In the span of one episode, they managed to turn me against Seika. Yes I know it’s all a part of the plot and all but she just became so detestable all of a sudden. I think this now but I get the feeling she or Sylvia will be my favorite heriones in the end. Speaking of Sylvia, she was not as tsundere as I originally thought she would be though the way she is now is fine too. I was just a little disturbed by the sword fight in the beginning because the blade of Teppei’s sword was “deep” in between Sylvia’s breasts but he still says she won the fight. Everyone can tell just by looking that if he moved the sword a little to the left or right he would have slashed per just fine, it is something she needs too.

I am starting to sense the rivalry between the heriones of the show and is in turn, completing the Harem. They spent a good amount of time focusing on the four girls. Charlotte and Sylvia were training Teppei while we were shown a small part of Yuu’s past. During all of this, we can see Seika starting to develop feelings for Teppei.
